Overview of FDEO
The Florida Dance Education Organization is a growing organization that provides several kinds of services and information for dance educators. Each year in October, FDEO presents an educators' conference featuring guest presenters, roundtable discussions, networking sessions, and a performance by the National Honor Society of Dance Arts Florida Chapters. The conference is the main organization gathering for each year.
In addition to the conference, FDEO is the State Affiliate for the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. FDEO managers all of the chapter memberships, provides newsworthy information, and awards state recognition of dancers who have achieved a high level of artistry, leadership, and academic achievement.
Beyond recognition of students, FDEO honors dance educators from around the state each year. Dance educators are honored from all sectors of public and private organizations, as well as all levels from Pre-K to Post-Secondary. Through these awards FDEO seeks to recognize the many contributions of dance educators in the state of Florida.
FDEO is a young organization that is rapidly developing to meet the needs of dance educators across the state. From website development and email newsletters to advocacy and leadership in the arts in Florida, we continually try to expand and improve our organization.
